Aaron is the President of Progressive Animal Collaboration Team (PACT) and also the Director for the Montgomery County Animal Services (MCAS) in Montgomery County, Texas. He joined MCAS in May of 2017. His love for animals began at an early age in his home state of Washington as an avid horseman. His professional career in Animal Sheltering began at the City of Houston, BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions. Aaron has more than 16 years of experience in public service. His depth of experience is the result of the knowledge and skills gained from many positions including Animal Control Officer, Veterinary Technician, Shelter Supervisor and Manager of Medical Operations. Aaron is also a State of Texas certified EMS provider and Certified Humane Investigator (animal cruelty investigations). His years of experience include creating and implementing programs to better shelter operations as well as the implementation of programs for the citizens of the community. He has long had a passion for working to unite Animal Welfare organizations in the greater Houston area and beyond. Aaron hopes starting PACT is the beginning of an amazingly successful collaboration of municipal shelters benefiting the animals and our communities.
Dr. Michael White has over 39 years of experience in veterinary private practice, 11 years in public health, and 6 years in animal shelter management. He currently serves as a member of the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (TBVME), the Board of Directors for the Friends of CountyPets, and the Harris County Disaster Animal Management Committee. Dr. White became the Director of the Harris County Animal Shelter in 2013. He has effectively improved the operations and public image of the Harris County Animal Shelter and brought the Live Release Rate from 15.5% in 2012 to 93.6% in 2019 (January-September).
